WORLDNEEDS ASSOCIATION

"The World Needs Association (wneeds.org) and I (António Rodrigues) carried out between March 4 and March 8 in the Polish region of Przemyśl and Korczowa, near the border with Ukraine, a humanitarian aid mission to refugees from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in one of the existing reception centers in the area."

"These were 4 days of constant help and gathering of information on the functioning of the centers as well as the reception and distribution of goods. We established contacts with managers of refugee centers where we maintain constant contact in updating all relevant information on the spot."

GENERAL OBJETIVE

"The general aim of the collection is to start the 2nd phase of our humanitarian aid to Ukraine. After collecting relevant information on the field about the operation, needs, logistics and deviations, we will collect it from various places in Portugal and put it all together in a logistics centre created by us where we will take care of the rest of the process with the requirements they send us on a daily basis."

"The expected arrival date will be in the first weeks of April (forecast according to the lack of goods that will be felt with the prolonged weather in the fields)."

WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY GOODS?

Following the work developed in the field, it was possible to make a survey of the most necessary goods and which arrive in smaller quantities at the reception centres. These are highlighted below, duly divided by categories:
